Nothing else on this page ages the way wool does — a good wool carpet still looks and feels right twenty years in, long after a synthetic carpet in the same room would have been replaced at least once.
Every fibre is naturally crimped, which is what gives wool its bounce and its resistance to crushing and matting under furniture and foot traffic. It’s also naturally flame-resistant and insulating, holding warmth in winter and taking the edge off noise between rooms — qualities synthetic fibres can only approximate.
Our range runs from tightly-woven loop piles like Outback and BRIT, through richer, denser options like Boden and Mainland’s undyed Himalayan wool, to softer twist piles like BECK and Alta. Click through any range above for exact pricing and available colours.
Wool’s warmth and softness make it the natural choice for bedrooms and living rooms — anywhere you want the floor to feel as good as it looks. It’s a heavier-duty option than most synthetics, so it also holds up well in family living areas and hallways, though very high-traffic commercial spaces are better served by our synthetic or commercial ranges.
Vacuum wool carpet regularly using a suction-only or low beater-bar setting — an aggressive beater bar can fuzz the fibres over time. Blot spills immediately rather than rubbing, and use a wool-safe carpet cleaner; many general carpet cleaning products are formulated for synthetic fibres and can discolour wool. Professional steam cleaning every 12–18 months keeps a wool carpet looking new for decades.
Every range is on display at our Castle Hill and Belrose showrooms, where you can feel the difference in weight and texture that photos can’t show. Book a free measure and quote and we’ll bring samples to you if that’s easier.
Is wool carpet good for allergies? Wool’s tighter fibre structure actually traps fewer airborne allergens than many synthetic piles, though anyone with a specific wool sensitivity should test a sample first.
How long does wool carpet last? With proper care, a good wool carpet typically lasts 15–25 years, well beyond most synthetic carpets.
Is wool carpet worth the extra cost? For rooms you plan to keep for a decade or more, most customers find the extra upfront cost pays off in how much longer it lasts and how much better it wears.
