If you love the look of fine oak flooring, then Prestige Oak is the natural choice. It shares the unrivalled beauty and character of traditional European Oak with the added durability and stability of engineered construction — a genuine oak wear layer over a multi-ply timber substrate, with the grains running perpendicular to each other so a board this wide holds its shape. It is the range most often specified by leading architects and designers.
Three constructions are available. The 21/6mm range is a 2200 x 220mm extra-wide board, 1.936 m² per carton over 4 planks. The 15/4mm range is 1900 x 190mm, 1.805 m² per carton over 5 planks. The 14/2mm range is 1900 x 190mm, 2.166 m² per carton over 6 planks at around 19kg. All are tongue-and-groove and can be direct stuck or floated by a professional installer. Cartons contain set-length boards plus nested shorter planks — approximately 30% in the 15mm range and 25% in the 21mm range.
The grade is ABCD European Oak, so variation in specific colours could include natural mineral streaks, black stain, medullary rays, knots and slight surface checking and filling, along with batch colour toning. That is the natural beauty of European Oak’s character. Boards are pre-finished with a UV-cured, wear-resistant European polyurethane coating in a matte sheen, with a light wire-brushed surface on certain colours. Janka hardness is 5.5–6.0 kN, moisture content approximately 7–10%, density 0.75 g/cm², VOC emissions below E1 and slip resistance P3 to AS/NZS 4586 wet pendulum. AB Grade is available in certain colours at a higher price, and Raw is supplied uncoated for finishing on site.
Prestige Oak suits living areas, bedrooms, hallways and commercial interiors, but it is not for wet areas — keep it out of bathrooms, WCs and laundries. It is suitable for installation with “In-Slab” hydronic heating only. The 15/4mm and 21/6mm ranges carry a Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty and a 20 year domestic finish warranty. The 14/2mm range carries a 25 year limited structural warranty and a 20 year limited residential coating warranty. An extensive range of trims, coloured scotia and stair nosing is available.
