Alta is a tight loop wool carpet with a variegated, multi-tone yarn, so the surface reads as a soft linear texture rather than a flat block of colour. There is movement in it, and everyday marks show less readily than they do on a single-tone carpet.
It is tufted from 100% pure New Zealand wool, spun three ply, at 43oz (1450gsm) with a low 6mm pile. That combination — pure wool, tight loop, low pile — is the one that stands up to traffic. There is very little pile height to crush, the tight loop resists furniture indentation, and the multi-tone colouring disguises the wear that does happen. It is the sensible choice for a hallway or a family living room.
